The Leicester Haymarket Theatre

Like many people locally I was shocked to hear of the closure of the Haymarket theatre in Leicester.

For many years the Haymarket has been regarded as one of the leading regional theatres and serves many Loughborough constituents.

I joined with my fellow MPs Jim Marshall and David Taylor to call for immediate action to prevent the closure and an emergency rescue plan to be implemented without delay in order to secure the future of the theatre and its staff.

At present a rescue package is being considered by the Arts Council and I wil maintain pressure to find a suitable solution for all involved.
