Surgeries
I hold regular surgeries in the constituency.
I have an appointment system, so all you need to do is phone my Loughborough Office and ask when the next appointment is available. We usually find that if you give me the details straight away we can start helping you on the same day, without the need for an appointment. I find that 90% of my 11,000 cases have been handled in this way.
I generally hold my surgeries at my office, but do move them around the constituency, to Shepshed, Sileby, Barrow and Hathern for example. No appointments for surgeries are made in London.
I have found through experience that the traditional surgery is changing and I now use the 'Roving Surgery' - calling on a group of houses at a particular time or street stalls and listening events in shopping centres to be much more effective. Between 1997 and 2001 I visited over 5,000 houses with Roving surgeries - 1,000 of them in Shepshed, others in Sileby and Loughborough. I have held my street stalls in Shepshed, Sileby, Barrow, Quorn and Loughborough.
