Reed Receives Complaints About Lack Of Taxis At Station
Andy Reed MP has been receiving an increased number of complaints about the lack of taxis at Loughborough railway station.
Reed has raised the matter with the Managing Director of Central Trains, pointing out that there are terms and conditions covering the minimum number of Hackney Carriages present.
Reed stated “taxis are a useful service for people who do not own a car. This includes women who arrive at the station late at night and who often have heavy bags. Taxis are also regularly used by the disabled.”
Reed is continuing to monitor taxi provision elsewhere in the town, a subject made all the more important by the County Council’s decision not to go ahead with a Bus Station, and the reduction in the spaces available in Biggin St. Taxis are a part of a connected integral transport plan.
Reed topically observed “Taxis are also used by people after office Christmas parties.”
Reed’s Constituency Office in Loughborough is continuing to monitor the provision of taxi ranks in Loughborough.
