What Can be Done to Improve Party Political Funding?

Stories about large political donations often cause a stir in the media. Of course we now know about the donations thanks to the legislation we brought in to open up the whole process.

The funding of political parties will always remain controversial whilst we have our media frenzy every few months. I believe the only way to end this situation is to move to a system of further state funding. We already have this with free political broadcasts and mail delivery,and in a regulated way this could and should be enhanced.
