Do You Support a Bid for the 2012 Olympics?
Broadly yes. However, with quite a few caveats.
I feel that a bid would benefit not just London, but the regions like the East Midlands. For example Loughborough could be the base for some of the major teams.
The Bid could help regenerate parts of London and give a real impetus to our investment in sport.
However, I have genuine concerns about diverting public expenditure towards a sporting event of this scale. Evan as an avid sports fan who would love to see more public expenditure on sport!
