Dishley & Hathern Ward

This is a lovely area of my constituency, linking the ancient and well preserved village of Hathern with Robert Bakewell's Dishley and the new housing surrounding it. You know that Hathern is a real community by talking to Cllr Sharon Williams, our much appreciated councillor who lives in the centre of the village and works at the local school.
Councillors have also helped me forge links with the Dishley and Gorse Covert side of this area. The Gorse Covert Centre is the hub of this community and there's always something happening there.
From Maxwell Drive you can walk out to Garendon Park, across the Stonebow Washlands along the Thorpe Acre Trail, dotted with sculptures designed by LUSAD students. Equally from Barsby Drive you can visit Bakewell's memorial in the ruined Dishley Chapel or stroll across the Derby Road past the Black Brook to the footpaths to the river and thence to Hathern by the scenic route.
We welcome residents to the new houses opposite Dishley Grange and at the end of Maxwell Drive, as we also appreciate the good will of all residents in making this a diverse and co-operative community.
