I like to start this series of articles with a provocative title. Yet I bet not may readers will have flinched much at this heading.

I have been involved in politics for about 20 years. I have watched the way the media have operated up close. I have been accustomed to being more than a little wary of the national press, TV and radio. However, I have also been shocked in recent years in the way the press treat anything on the Christian agenda.

I hope to explore how we can generate any hope that the decline in the national media in particular can be reversed or failing that can the new media (ie the Internet which is replacing our daily newspapers) offer us an alternative.
