A full report will appear here as soon as full details are known of the changes to Andi which took place on the 12th December 2006. Andi was to be deported as there are no grounds for him to remain legally - as Home Office Minister Liam Byrne confirmed to me in a faxed letter. However, a legal challenge has meant there will a review of his case. I will continue to argue that all facts should be taken into account in the story of this remarkable man and the individual circumstances hopefully will allow him to stay."

MP to Meet Minister in final Plea for Andi Eminaj

Loughborough MP Andy Reed is to meet with Home Office Minister Liam Byrne next week to make the final case for Andi Eminaj the Albanian from Kosovo who came to the UK in 1998 aged 14. The story has gained support from many local constituents, with over 1000 signing a petition for Andi to be given the right to look after his younger brother who has been given the right to stay in Loughborough.

I have backed locals who are fighting to stop the deportation of Andi Eminaj. I have appealed to the IND and have asked the Home Office Minister to look into the circumstances of the case. I will present the petition to the Home Office.
