Reed Challenges Constituents to Cut Carbon Emissions by 25%

Loughborough MP Andy Reed is challenging his constituents to join him in cutting their own carbon emissions by 25% over the next 5 years.

Latest opinion polls show that 80% of people in the UK believe climate change is a vital issue which the Government should make a priority – but less than 10% were willing to do anything about it themselves.

Reed said:

“Everyone agrees that we need to do something about climate change, so I thought I would do something personally to help cut carbon emissions. I will cut my own carbon emissions by 25% over the next 5 years and I am challenging local constituents in Loughborough to do the same.

“The latest opinion polls show that 80% of people in the UK believe climate change is a vital issue which the Government should make a priority – but less than 10% were willing to do anything about it themselves.

“As our local MP, I want to take a lead and show to people locally that it’s easy to make small changes to your lifestyle and help reduce carbon emissions. I hope that many people in Loughborough will take up my challenge and do their bit to help address climate change.”
