Loughborough MP Andy Reed today took up the cause of a growing number of residents in Quorn affected by quarry noise levels.
Residents on the south of side of Quorn are increasingly woken before 6 30 am by noise from quarry workings. A recent questionnaire also highlighted that over 30 people being adversely affected by quarry noise whilst they were in their house or garden.
Speaking from Loughborough Reed said “I am particularly concerned about the detrimental affect on my constituents health and well being”. He added “I also understand there is a further application to increase activity at the Mounstorrel Quarry, so therefore it has been important to act now”.
In response to representations from local people Reed has raised the matter at both borough and county council level, asking for urgent action to be taken both to improve the quality of life for those affected.
Reed also urged anyone adversely affected to contact him at his constituency office by telephoning on 01509 261226, to add weight to the submissions already made.
