Reed Calls for Nominations for Top South Asian Restaurant in Town
MP Andy Reed is calling for Loughborough residents to write to him with their favourite local South Asian restaurant – with the most popular being put forward by the MP into a prestigious national competition.
The competition is being organized by the Tiffin Club to promote South Asian cuisine in the UK, and those establishments shortlisted will be invited down to London in November to take part in a cook off for the auspicious Tiffin Cup 2005.
Reed would like to receive all nominations from local residents by the end of September in order that a winner can be chosen from these.
Reed said:
“We have some wonderful South Asian restaurants locally. Whether it be Indian, Pakistani or Bangladeshi cuisine Loughborough can provide it all. As soon as I heard about the Tiffin Club competition, I thought ‘we must have a representative from Loughborough in London’ because we have some of the best restaurants and chefs in the country.
“I’d like local residents to write to me before the end of September with their nominations – and brief details of why they think the restaurants in question should be nominated. It is a shame we can only nominate one local restaurant, but I am confident that whoever wins our final nomination will have a good chance of going to London to fight for the prestigious Tiffin Cup in November.
“Nominations can be sent to either my London or Loughborough Offices or e-mailed to me via my website. For further information please call 020 7219 3529.”
