I refer you to the comments I made on the general principle when the Bill was first discussed in Parliament before the last election. Since then I have received a further dozen or so objections to the Bill - mainly forwarding comments from the NO2ID web site.

I cannot agree with those who have a fundamental objection to the principle of basic information being contained on a piece of card.

However, I do have serious concerns about the cost v benefit and this is where I will concentrate my effort in the discussions with Ministers.
