Loughborough Fire Station
There has been a geat deal of speculation about the proposed changes at the Loughborough Station and in particular with night time cover.
I have held several meetings with Firefighters (covered in the news section of this website) and the Chief Fire Officer. These are ongoing and I hope to work with the local Station management to get the best deal for Loughborough from any proposed changes.

The Fire Station on Epinal Way is a vital resource which needs to be must be valued and developed as a modern fire and rescue service.
It is under the ownership and management of the Leics Fire & Rescue Authority, a joint organisation comprising the County and City of Leicester.
The location gives good road access but we must remember it faces the rear of several properties on Alan Moss Road and Garendon Road. Whhen the Authority applied for planning permission to extend the facility, I heard from many residents who were concerned about the extent of use of up to seven days a week and the concerns that enlarging the facility entailed.
I understand that the authority has been granted a planning consent to extend to a point where trees and hedgerow are retained by are appealing against an earlier refusal. Whilst I cannot become involved in oplanning applications, I have asked that the interests of residents in any environmetal matters relating to the site be taken fully respected and taken into account - both by the planning process and by the authority, as good neighbours.
