Reed Makes Information Available on Dial Up Scam Complaints
Loughborough MP Andy Reed has acted promptly in order to obtain free information booklets for his Loughborough constituents, caught up in the premium rate dial up scam.
Reed has been a persistent campaigner in Parliament against the action of the rogue dialers which are estimated to have cost UK web surfers £5 million in 2004 alone. He received a host of complaints from his Loughborough constituents last year who found themselves caught up in the scam.
The booklets called A Consumer Guide Premium Rate Services, produced by The Independent Committee for the Supervision of Standards of Telephone Information Services (ICSTIS) outline what steps people should take if they have a complaint about premium rate services. They were made available from 28th January and Mr Reed now has a good stock in his Loughborough office.
Reed said “the booklets are excellent and I would strongly advise anyone who has had any difficulties about premium rate dial up scam to get in touch with me”.
The booklets are available from Mr Reed’s constituency office at 21 Fennel Street in Loughborough, telephone 01509 261226.
