MP Welcmomes 9.2% increase in Funding for Local NHS

MP Welcmomes 9.2% increase in Funding for Local NHS

Speaking from the Commons this week, Loughborough MP Andy Reed welcomed the 9.2% increase in funding for Charnwood PCT for the next 2 years.

The investment will ensure sustained funding into local services and Reed will meet with the PCT again in the next few weeks to discuss progress.

He also warned a return of the Tories to Government would mean a cut in NHS spending locally.

Reed said:

“This is obviously good news for Loughborough. The continued and sustained investment in local services run for local people by local people has seen great improvements in many service areas – including the building of a new £10m hospital and the Walk-in Centre.

“The security of knowing what future funding is expected will allow for proper planning. I am meeting the bosses of the PCT again in the next few weeks to hammer out the current budget and now what they plan to expand from this welcome increase in their budget.

“Of course the Tories are proposing to cut NHS spending again and this would be a disaster for Loughborough.”
