Reed Joins Councillors for Shepshed Walkabout

Andy Reed MP today joined with local Town Councillors in Shepshed in one of his regular visits to discuss problems and opportunities for the town.

Reed was asked for his views on massage parlours and the price of food at the Co-op in the town.

Reed said:

“Rather than sit in a meeting with Councillors I prefer to go out and about, see the problems and meet local people to hear their feelings too. I do this with the other Parish Councils and will be visiting all Parish Councils again throughout the year to repeat the exercise.

“I was not surprised to hear the common complaint about the number of massage parlours in the town and continued concern about the prices in the Co-op! I will be meeting regional Co-op bosses on Monday to pass on these concerns.

“We also met the local police and market traders and all in all I think it was a very useful visit. I will be taking up the points raised with those concerned and continue to work closely with the Council to help improve the area.”
